Edinboro, Pa.- After beginning the season with three straight road games, the Edinboro men's basketball team will host their first home game of the season on Saturday by welcoming Robert's Wesleyan College into McComb Fieldhouse for a 3 p.m. tip.
Three Games In
The Fighting Scots kicked off the season last weekend with two games at Fairmont State University. Edinboro's opening game on Saturday, they fell to the home team Fairmont State 89-55. The following day the Fighting Scots would bounce back with a 113-104 overtime win over Bluefield State. In the team's most recent game on Tuesday, Edinboro traveled to Cleveland State University where they were defeated by the Vikings 75-61.
Last Time on the Floor
In the loss to Cleveland State on Tuesday, the Fighting Scots put together a solid second half effort against the Vikings. Edinboro shot 45% from the field in the final 20 minutes of play and were only outscored by two points.
Kierell Green finished with his first double-double of the season by leading Edinboro with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Cyrie Coates followed with 14 points, 5 steals, and 3 assists for the Fighting Scots.
New and Old
Edinboro is returning one starter along with three other players from the previous 2019-2020 season. Jaryn Simpson is the only returning starter as he averages 11.0 points per game in three games this season.
First year guard Deonte Robertson leads the team with 17.0 points per game along with 9.3 rebounds. First year forward Dominique Keyes adds 10.3 points and a team high 11.7 rebounds per game.
Back at Home
Edinboro will host their first home game at McComb Fieldhouse since the 2019-20 season when they matched up against Slippery Rock for senior day on February 26, 2020.
Redhawks Scouting Report
Roberts Wesleyan College is a member of the ECC conference and comes into the competition with an overall record of (1-1) on the season. They started the season by falling to Le Moyne College in a close one, 96-97. In the next game, the Redhawks secured their first win of the season against Mansfield University with a 94-84 victory.
The Redhawks like to run at a high pace and average 95.0 points per game while shooting 44% from three-point range.
Ja'Kair Sanchez leads the way for Roberts Wesleyan with 21.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds. Amari Lee is averaging 17.5 points per game along with 6.0 rebounds.

After the match up with Roberts Wesleyan, Edinboro will have a break and return to action on Nov. 30 when they travel to Lake Erie College.
