EDINBORO, PA- The Edinboro Women's Volleyball team (18-4) will return home to McComb Fieldhouse for PSAC West matchups with Gannon University (23-5) on Friday, Nov. 5. at 6 p.m. and Mercyhurst University (10-14) On Saturday, Nov. 6. at 4 p.m.
Your Fighting Scots
- In Edinboro's previous game, they were back on the road at IUP where they played their third-straight away game
- In the team's previous game on Oct. 30, Edinboro fell to IUP in four sets (22-25, 25-21, 17-25, 24-26), snapping the Scots six-game winning streak
- With the loss to IUP, the Scots are now (18-4) overall but still remain at the top of the standings at (10-2) in the PSAC West
- In the match up against IUP, senior Sally Sterkel led the offensive attack with nine kills, Sterkel is currently third in kills for Edinboro on the season, with 160 total while averaging two kills per set
- Senior Alicia Eldredge who leads Edinboro this season with 786 assists, continued her dominance with a team-high 29 assists against the Crimson Hawks, Eldredge is currently fifth in the PSAC with 9.70 assists per set
- Junior Bella Burrelli finished with three aces which matched her season high, Burrelli and freshman Carly Pry lead Edinboro with 25 aces each on the season
- Edinboro's top two blockers this season led the way against IUP, both Sterkel and freshman Michaella Cloonan finished with four blocks each
- Eldredge and Burrelli also led the Scots with 11 digs each, Burrelli is currently second in digs with 251 on the season
Gannon University
- In the previous matchup between Edinboro and Gannon this season, the Scots were victorious on the road in five hard-fought sets, (22-25, 25-17, 15-25, 25-19, 15-12)
- The winner of the upcoming matchup between Gannon and Edinboro will control the top spot in the PSAC West
- Gannon comes into the competition with an overall record of (23-5) and a PSAC West record of (10-3)
- The Golden Knights are currently second in the PSAC West, they are only behind Edinboro who holds the number one spot
- Gannon was victorious in their last game against Mercyhurst University in three quick sets, (25-18, 25-17, 25-14)
- On offense Ashley McClung led Gannon with 13 kills, while Ashley Beyers controlled the pace with 35 assists
- On defense Ashley Kerestes led the Golden Knights with five blocks, while Kirsten Leitshuh and Beyers slowed down the opposition's attack with 14 digs each
Mercyhurst University
- In the previous matchup between Edinboro and Mercyhurst, the Lakers handed the Scots their first PSAC West loss of the season, Edinboro was defeated on the road in five sets, (12-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-15, 12-15)
- Mercyhurst comes into the competition with an overall record of (10-14) and a PSAC West record of (6-7)
- The Lakers are currently fifth in the PSAC West rankings, they trail behind Edinboro, Gannon, Clarion, and Cal
