Painesville, Ohio – Dominique Keyes scored a team-high 17 points as the Edinboro men's basketball team fell on the road to Lake Erie College 79-65 on Tuesday night.
Late in the second half a steal by Keyes and a dunk by Kierell Green jump-started a run by Edinboro, as the Scots finished the game on a 9-2 run.
The run by Edinboro in the second half was a bit late due to Lake Erie sustaining an early lead in the first half. The two teams began the game exchanging leads and were tied 15-15. From that point on the Storm would outscore the Fighting Scots 41-16, as Lake Erie was up 56-31 at the halftime. The difference came from beyond the arc as Lake Erie shot 42.4 percent from three-point range compared to Edinboro's 21.4 percent.
Keyes added nine rebounds and four steals to his 17 points. Green produced his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Jaryn Simpson matched his teammate with 12 points, along with eight rebounds and three assists. Deontae Robertson added 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
The Fighting Scots will be back in action on Dec. 3, when they open up PSAC play on the road against Lock Haven University with a 5:30 p.m. tip.
