Edinboro, Pa. – Haley Sims scored a game-high 28 leading four Scots in double figures as Edinboro topped visiting Bloomsburg 72-60 Thursday night in PSAC crossover action.
In the fourth quarter, Edinboro held a 58-55 with five minutes to play. Over the next two minutes, the Scots went on an 8-0 run capped by a
Hayley Sims 3-pointer to push the lead to 66-55 with 3:04 left to play.
Samantha Brusha hit a triple with 2:53 left to pull within 66-58 before Edinboro scored six straight to close out the game.
Bloomsburg held a 12-11 with 3:24 remaining in the first quarter. The Scots finished the first quarter on a 10-3 spurt to take a 22-15 lead into the quarter break.
With the score 33-24, Bloomsburg scored the next eight points to cut the lead to 33-32. Sims closed the quarter with five straight points to put the Scots up 37-32 at the half.
The Huskies tied the game at 39 at the 4:44 mark of the third quarter, but Edinboro notched eight straight to push the lead back to 47-39.
Rana Elhusseini added 14 points, seven assists and four rebounds.
Bella Burrelli chipped in 12 points and seven boards in her first action of the season.
Gillian Fisher was the fourth Scot in double figures with 10 points.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.
