Lock Haven, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team outscored Lock Haven 17-6 in the fourth quarter to come away with a 59-48 victory Friday night at Thomas Fieldhouse.
The teams entered the final frame tied 42-42.
Ashten Boggs scored the first bucket of the fourth, but Lock Haven answered with a 3-pointer to take a 45-44 lead.
Hayley Sims gave Edinboro the lead with a jumper at the 7:43 mark sparking a 15-0 run. The Scots defense clamped down in the fourth holding the Bald Eagles without a point for a stretch of 7:26 before Nadia Romanchock set the final with a triple with 36 seconds to play.
Edinboro trailed 26-15 at the half, and Lock Haven stretched the lead to 30-15 with back-to-back buckets to open the third. The Scots surged back with a 15-2 run trimming the lead to 32-30 on a basket from

Boggs cut the lead to one, 34-33, when she split a pair of free throws at the 3:03 mark of the third.
Gillian Fisher gave Edinboro their first lead of the night with an old-school 3-point play with 2:53 left in the third. The lead grew to as many as five, 39-34, but Lock Haven finished on an 8-3 run to knot the score at 42 after three quarters.
Lock Haven jumped out to a 13-2 lead right out of the gate and held a 16-6 advantage after the first. The Scots would get as close as eight twice in the second quarter, but the Bald Eagles finished the half up 26-15.
Sims led all scorers with 24 points to go with four rebounds and two assists. Fisher finished the night with 14 points, five rebounds, three steals and a block.
Rana Elhusseini dished out 10 assists while scoring nine and pulling down five rebounds. Boggs grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Scots and scored seven points.
Ahnera Parker paced Lock Haven with 15 points and was the only Bald Eagle to reach double figures.
The Scots ran their record to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in PSAC play. They are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Mansfield for a 5:30 p.m. matchup with the Mounties.
