After nearly a full year out of action, the swimming programs now have the chance to get back in the pool once again. Head Coach Chris Rhodes offered his thoughts on his athletes getting a chance to resume or begin their college careers and the job of the Edinboro community and the athletic department to help make this meet possible.

"We want to sincerely thank the administration for this opportunity. With how crazy things have been, it has been great to get back to doing what we love. The administration has gone above and beyond to make this happen and to give us a safe environment where we can compete. We are extremely humbled that we are given this opportunity.

"With only a few weeks of practice, we are still looking forward to competing. I don't expect us to break any records, but I do expect us to give our best effort and be the best team we can be. The team has been doing a tremendous job training and I think it is important for them to see how far they have come in such a short time. I am extremely proud of how they have handled all of this and look forward to starting off another successful swim season."

The women's program will feature seven returners from a season ago and four upperclassmen who will be looked upon as leaders. The team has a great mix of veteran leadership paired with young talent that will lead to great strides for the longevity of the program.

Seniors Nicole Kadlecik, Kara Miller, and Kendall Peregrini are preparing for perhaps their last and only home meet of their senior season. Kadlecik was a part of an All-PSAC 200 freestyle relay team last year along with sophomore Makayla Scheu. Scheu was also an All-PSAC selection in her first college season as a part of the 200 Medley Relay.

Moving to the men's program, they also return seven swimmers from a season ago, and a lone senior in Michael Kocher who was a third-team All-PSAC selection in the 200 backstroke. The meet Saturday morning could be his last opportunity to compete in McComb Fieldhouse. The team also welcomes just one newcomer this campaign which means a lot of experience returns in total for the men's team.
