EDINBORO, Pa. - The Fighting Scots fell short in Friday's match up with Shepherd University. Edinboro took Shepherd to the fifth set and lost 3-2.
Bella Burrelli led the team with 16 kills in the Friday evening game against Shepherd University from McComb Fieldhouse.
Sally Sterkel was impressive as she contributed 14 kills of her own, while Abby Monn chipped in 13.
Alicia Eldredge and Sydnee Jones led the way for the Fighting Scots up front both coming up with 2 blocks each.
Eldredge also was an effective distributor for her squad, she assisted on 44 points.
Burrelli had 26 digs, Monn contributed 22 and Eldredge had 19.
In the fifth and final set Edinboro had a kill percentage of .214 which was their best in any set. Ultimately, Shepherd overcame Edinboro in the final set 18-16 to clinch a 3-2 victory.
Edinboro will re-take the floor back at McComb Fieldhouse tomorrow for a 2 p.m. matchup with Davis and Elkins College followed by a 5 p.m. showdown with West Virginia Wesleyan College.
