Johnstown, Pa. – Despite a career-high 22 points from 
Gillian Fisher, the Edinboro women's basketball team dropped a 70-59 decision to host Pitt-Johnstown Monday afternoon in PSAC West action.
The Scots held a 49-47 advantage after three quarters, but went cold from the field in the fourth shooting 3-of-18 from the floor in the final frame as the Mountain Cats outscored them 23-10 to earn the victory.
Ashten Boggs put Edinboro up 13-10 at the 3:51 mark of the first quarter, the largest lead for either team in the opening frame. The Scots carried a 16-14 edge to the second quarter.
Back-to-back 3-point baskets and a 
Rana Elhusseini layup pushed the Edinboro lead to 24-14 with 7:39 left in the second. Pitt-Johnstown went on a 18-4 run to close the half and take a 32-28 lead into the break.
Edinboro retook the lead at the 7:33 mark on another triple by Fisher to make the score 37-35. 
Ashten Boggs capped an 8-2 spurt with a fastbreak layup to extend the lead to 45-37. Pitt-Johnstown answered with a 10-2 run of their own to tie the game at 47. Boggs hit a pair of free throws with seconds left in the third to give Edinboro the lead heading to the final frame.
Fisher hit six 3-pointers on the night and added four rebounds a block and a steal to her career-high 22 points. Boggs added 15 points and six rebounds. 
Bella Burrelli notched a team-high 10 boards as well as three points.
Ashley Norling paced the Mountain Cats with 21 points to go with seven rebounds. Makalyn Clapper added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Scots are back in action on Wednesday when they host Mercyhurst at 5:30 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.
