Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Soccer falls 1-0 to Clarion away from home

Clarion, Pa. – Women's soccer were unable to repeat their earlier success against Clarion, falling to a first half goal which saw Clarion over the line to a 1-0 victory.

Edinboro had good passages of play in both periods of the game but were unable to find a breakthrough. In the first half Boro had five attempts and a further six in the second half. Unfortunately only three were able to find the target with Clarion's Alex Velez equal to all three.

Kylee Cross broke the deadlock in the 40th minute for Clarion. Some tricky play by Alexis Moyer evaded the Edinboro defense as Cross was played into the penalty area, finishing well with a low driven shot to the left hand side of the goal.

Clare Crossley had three attempts from Edinboro from her midfield position. Crossley was box-to-box throughout the game with two of her efforts having to be saved to keep Edinboro goalless.

Reece Enochs continued to cause a threat with her best effort coming from a corner kick. Enochs was able to get a head onto a dangerous corner played in by Crossley, but the header unfortunately just went over the crossbar.

Clarion had just one attempt in the second half of play with Edinboro controlling much of the half inside the Clarion side of play. Kaylee Lauriel had three saves in the game all coming in the first period of play.

Edinboro look ahead to their final game of the season against Cal. U at Sox Harrison Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 29, kickoff set for 6 p.m.
