Edinboro, Pa. – Edinboro came out flying to a 1-0 lead thanks to
Reece Enochs in just the fifth minute of the game. However, Seton Hill fought back with two goals in the first half to take the lead. Edinboro much improved in the second and was able to equalize through
Lexi Boyk and had chances to win the game but were unable to convert.
Reece Enochs scored her third goal of the season to give Edinboro a 1-0 advantage early on. Enochs fired a looping ball into the top right corner.
Megan Malits assisted with a through ball down the right-hand side.
Seton Hill gained some pressure as the second half went on. They were level through Madison Carr in the 28th minute after a ball played inside by Leah Policarpio fell kindly for Carr to finish into the bottom left corner.
Seton Hill continued to press forward and took the lead with seven minutes remaining in the first half. Leah Policarpio was the scorer this time after a similar pattern of play to their first goal. This time Victoria Rothrauff with assist.
Edinboro ensure they pressed the issue on Seton Hill from the first whilst of the second half. Edinboro had eight attempts in the second half and
Lexi Boyk was able to take advantage of a breakaway opportunity. Boyk's first goal of the season came after a through ball by
Reece Enochs was calmly slotted away by Boyk in the 59th minute.
Kaylee Lauriel had four saves in the game with the majority coming in the first half.
Edinboro looked most likely to score in the closing stages with
Maggie Hays coming closest after some close control in the penalty area created a shooting opportunity that was saved well by Grace Kenyon.
Edinboro returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Gannon University. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium.
