Lock Haven, Pa. -- The Edinboro football team had five players earn spots on the All-PSAC West teams announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore punter
Reed Martin was the Scots lone first-team choice. Offensive tackle
Gabe Hulslander earned a second team nod as did sophomore wide receiver
Thaddeus Standfield as both a wide out and a return specialist. Defensively, linebacker
Clay Cunningham and defensive back
Allen Stritzinger were second-team selections.
Martin topped the conference in punting with an average of 42.8 ranking ninth nationally at the end of the regular season. Marton was a weapon flipping field position for the Scots with 20 of his 53 total punts being downed inside the 20-yard line. He posted the second-longest punt in Edinboro history when he blasted a 77-yarder against Slippery Rock. He had nine punts of over 50 yards.
Hulslander was a key piece to the Edinboro offensively line moving from the interior to protecting the blindside of the Scot's quarterbacks. The Scots averaged 260.5 yards per game and scored 21touchdowns.
Standfield was a second-team choice at two different positions. He hauled in a team-high 65 catches for 790 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged 19.9 yards per kickoff return with a long of 54. His 123.9 all-purpose yards per game rnaked fouth in the PSAC and 37th in the nation.
Cunningham was a tackling machine this season finishing with 125 tackles. He ranked second in the PSAC and fourth in Divsion II with 11.4 stops per game. He recorded 13.5 tackles for loss as well as an interception and a forced fumble.
Stritzinger played all across the secondary for the Scots making 53 tackles, 24 of them solo. He also intercepted four passes returning one for a 91-yard touchdown against Clarion.
