Winnipeg, Manitoba – Trevor Harris, the Edinboro Hall of Fame quarterback and Fighting Scots all-time leading passer, had a brilliant effort leading the Saskatchewan Roughriders to the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup Championship.
On the night, Harris was 23-of-27 for 302 yards. His 85.2 completion percentage was a Grey Cup record. In doing so, Harris was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
"I just want to bring honor and praise to Jesus Christ," Harris said. "My time at Edinboro helped shape who I am and brought me closer to Jesus. Big thank you to Sandie and the late great Nathan Everhart for their role in my faith."
Harris was recently named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's 75 Greatest Male Athletes and put another feather in his cap on Sunday.
Harris wasn't the only Edinboro connection with the Roughriders. Saskatchewan Vice President of Football Operations & General Manger was a standout offensive lineman for the Scots. O'Day won the Grey Cup as a player for the Roughriders in 2007 and now has one as the team's general manager.
