Edinboro, Pa.-- The Edinboro men's basketball team fell to Salem University 72-67 inside McComb Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Fighting Scots fall to (2-3) overall.
Early in the first half Edinboro would earn the lead after a 10-2 run. During the run Naim Miller hit a three-pointer which was followed by an and-one from Kierell Green.
With 6:01 remaining in the half the Scots pursued another run, this time it was nine unanswered points. Back-to-back buckets from Harlyn Owens and a shot from deep from Ryan Ladjevich was enough to put Edinboro ahead 32-31.
With 17:09 remaining in the game Edinboro went ahead for the last time all game after another good jumper from Miller. Later, two free throws from Jack Gallagher would even things up at 56-56 all.
Down the stretch it was Salem who was able to pull away, the Tigers converted on six free throws in the final minute. Edinboro cooled off in the final minutes, going 2-11 from the field in the final three minutes.
Miller led Edinboro with a team-high 16 points and was perfect from the line.
Dominique Keyes recorded his third double-double of the season with an even 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Edinboro will be back in action on Friday (Dec. 2) when they travel to Millersville University for a 7:30pm start.
