Men’s Basketball Falls to Lock Haven

Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro men's basketball team fell to Lock Haven University 82-71 on Sunday afternoon inside the McComb Fieldhouse. With the loss, the Fighting Scots fell to (2-6) overall. 

Off the opening tip Edinboro came out hot on offense with a dunk from Kierell Green and a three-pointer from Naim Miller. A few possessions later Dominique Keyes finished at the rim to keep Edinboro ahead. 

Lock Haven would respond with a 15-2 run and gained a ten-point lead on the Scots with 9:15 left in the half. Edinboro then countered with a jumper from Ryan Ladjevich and another layup from Keyes. 

Edinboro went into the half down 11 points to Lock Haven after shooting 34% from the field. 

Lock Haven came out of the locker room with strong momentum in the second half. The Bald Eagles started the second half on a 16-4 run and earned their biggest lead of the afternoon at 21 points.  

The Scots continued to fight and trimmed down the Bald Eagles' lead with a huge dunk from Miller followed by a triple from Ladjevich.  

With 6:53 left in the game, Jack Gallagher found Will Taylor for a massive two hand slam. On the next play, Green converted on a layup to cut the Lock Haven lead to 14. 

With less than two minutes to play, Miller converted a four-point played after being fouled on a three-pointer. Ladjevich was credited with the assist as the Scots cut the deficit to just ten points. 

The Scot's comeback attempt fell short as Lock Haven iced the game from the free throw line. Lock Haven pulled away with an 82-71 victory. 


Miller led the Scots with a team-high 20 points, along with five rebounds. 

Taylor added in 16 points and six rebounds. 

Keyes went for his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds. 

Edinboro will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host Mansfield at 3 pm.
