California, Pa. – After a power outage delayed the start of the contest by over an hour, the Edinboro women's basketball team dropped a 78-42 decision to host Cal U Saturday afternoon in PSAC West play.
The Scots got on the board before the clock even started when Cal took a technical and
Rana Elhusseini made the free throw. The teams exchanged the lead twice in the with the Vulcans holding a 15-11 advantage after one.
The teams went bucket for bucket early in the second with Cal leading 20-16 after Haley Sims finished an old-school 3-point play. The Vulcans closed the second quarter on a 14-6 run to take a 34-21 lead into the break.
Cal started the third with an 8-0 spurt and lead wouldn't fall below 19 the rest of the way.
Elhusseini led the Fighting Scots with 16 points.
Ashten Boggs added six. Edinboro had a tough night from the floor shooting 16-for-56 from the field including just 1-of-13 from beyond the arc.
Dejah Terrell paced the Vulcans with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Shauna Harrison added 16 points.
The Fighting Scots are back in action on Monday when they host Gannon inside McComb Fieldhouse at 5:30 p.m.
