Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Falls Short to Nationally Ranked IUP

Edinboro, Pa – 26 points and 10 rebounds from Cyrie Coates wasn't enough as the Edinboro men's basketball was defeated by Indiana University of Pennsylvania 71-83, at McComb Fieldhouse Wednesday night. The Fighting Scots fall to (8-15) overall and (6-12) in PSAC play.

Edinboro jumped out to a quick lead after six straight points from Coates. IUP came firing back with three straight three-pointers to grab a 8-6 lead. A few minutes later Edinboro would steal the lead back after a layup from Terrence Moore

The Fighting Scots shot 41% from the field and connected on two three-pointers out of their nine attempts in the first half. IUP snagged a pass and got a quick layup to beat the buzzer. The Crimson Hawks led the Fighting Scots 36-29 at halftime.

The second half consisted of Edinboro relentlessly chasing down IUP's lead. At the 11:26 mark Coates ripped away a steal and went coast to coast for a fastbreak dunk. The following possession, Coates found Dominique Keyes down low for another slam dunk. The back-to-back dunks trimmed the IUP lead to just three points.

With 6:20 left to play, Jack Gallagher grabbed a defensive rebound and went coast to coast and finished at the rim to make it 61-60 in favor of IUP. From that point on, IUP began to slip away with the help of starting guard Armoni Foster. Foster scored 10 points and grabbed two steals in the final five minutes. Foster finished the night with 32 points and eight assists.
