Erie, Pa – Four Fighting Scots finished in double figures as the Edinboro men's basketball was defeated by Mercyhurst 63-91, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center Saturday night. The Fighting Scots fall to (8-16) overall and (6-13) in PSAC play. 

Edinboro jumped out to another early lead with threes from Kameron King and Deontae Robertson. Two minutes into the game, free throws from Cyrie Coates would put the Fighting Scots ahead 9-5.  

Mercyhurst went on a run of their own including 12 straight points, which quickly extended their lead to eight points. 

The Scots shot 37% from the field and connected on three triples in the first half of the game. 

The remainder of the first half consisted of Mercyhurst sustaining a solid lead over Edinboro. The Lakers led the Fighting Scots 42-31 at halftime. 

Out of halftime Robertson would hit a jumper to cut the lead to nine points. Mercyhurst immediately responded with a three-pointer on the ensuing possession. Edinboro increased its field goal percentage in the second half as they shot 11-26. 

At the 6:46 mark the Lakers continued to build their lead with an 8-0 run. The run consisted of back-to-back three-pointers and a dunk to extend the lead to 26 points.  

Terrence Moore finished with a team-high 14 points and seven rebounds. 

Jaryn Simpson posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. 

Coates also put in 12 points, as well as five rebounds. 

Edinboro will head to Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. as the Scots are down to their final two games of the regular season.
