Tyquan Hammock Joins Football Staff as Linebacker Coach

Edinboro, Pa. – Edinboro University head football coach Jake Nulph announced Tyquan Hammock as the next linebacker coach for the Fighting Scots.

"I am very happy to welcome Tyquan, his wife Kenya, and his daughters Kyleigh and Sadie to the Fighting Scots Family," said Nulph. "He is not just a football coach, he is also a great man and teacher. Our players will benefit from his experience and knowledge."

Hammock spent last season with Lafayette College where he served as the linebacker coach. He also spent a season as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach at Upper Iowa.

"I'm extremely excited to join the Edinboro Football family and very grateful for this opportunity, I'm thrilled to be in the state of Pennsylvania and can't wait to get out on the road and be in the high schools representing Edinboro," said Hammock. "Coach Nulph, the staff and the players have done a phenomenal job building on the great tradition of success here and instilling a championship culture. I'm ready to get to work and be a part of this great staff."

Hammock was a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois where he coached outside linebackers in 2019-20. Prior to that he served as the secondary coach for Kentucky Christian University.

Before making the jump to college coaching, Hammock spent four years coaching prep football.

Hammock played three seasons and was a tree-time letter winner at Michigan State as a linebacker. In 36 career games, he recorded 32 tackles 14 of which were solo. A key special teamer for the Spartans, Hammock also had four career kick returns for 44 yards and two catches for 45 yards.

Coming from a coaching family his brother Thomas is the head coach at MAC powerhouse Northern Illinois.

"Tyquan has football running in his veins," Nulph continued. "He comes from a football family. He grew up around the game and he wears his passion for football on his sleeve."
