Philadelphia, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team was defeated by Holy Family University 3-16, on Saturday afternoon at New Tiger Field. The Fighting Scots fall to (0-2) on the season.
The Scots had another strong performance from goalkeeper Kaitlyn Binotto, she finished the afternoon with 15 total saves.
Holy Family gained control in the first half of play with the help of Mackenzie Santucci and Rianna Shields who each scored four goals. The Tigers were ahead of the Fighting Scots 12-0 halfway through.
Early in the third Holy Family converted on two more goals, which extended their lead to 14-0 with 5:55 left in the period.
Edinboro would answer with a goal of their own from Traci Culver, with 3:18 to play in the third. Early in the fourth, the Scots scored their second consecutive goal which came from Kandyce Graham at the 12:12 mark.
The Tiger's followed up with two more final goals in the fourth accounting for 16 total. In the final minute of play, Graham would score her second goal of the afternoon.
Abigail Juzwick finished with three groundballs and one caused turnover. Culver added two groundballs to her goal.
Edinboro will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Felician University for a 11 a.m. start.
