Trenton, N.J. -- The Edinboro women's lacrosse team scored three time in the fourth quarter to take home a 6-3 victory over Felician Tuesday afternoon.
The win was not only the first of the season for the Scots, but also the first victory for head coach
Anthony Turini.
The teams entered the half tied 3-3 and after a scoreless third quarter entered the final frame still knotted at three.
Lexi Boyk broke the tie just 1:58 into the fourth with an unassisted tally.
Maggie Anderson and
Kandyce Graham added insurance tallies to extend the lead and set the final at 6-3.
Graham opened the scoring at the 8:19 mark of the first quarter. Felician answered just 21 seconds later to tie it at one.
Traci Culver gave Edinboro the lead back with 4:26 left in the first quarter.
The Golden Falcons scored back-to-back goals to open the second to grab a 3-2 lead.
Abigail Juzwick leveled the score 3-3 with just 1:01 remaining in the second quarter.
The Scots pitched a second half shutout.
Kaitlyn Binotto was strong in net making 13 saves to earn the win. Graham was the only Scot to score multiple points with a pair of goals.
Edinboro is back in action on March 16 when they take on Lake Erie College. The home opener for the Scots is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
