Edinboro, Pa. -- Despite a career-high 32 points from Naim Miller, the Edinboro men's basketball team fell to Seton Hill University 87-77 on Saturday afternoon inside McComb Fieldhouse. With the loss, the Fighting Scots fall to (4-10) overall.
Off the opening tip it was all Edinboro who quickly jumped out to an early 9-0 lead after draining three-straight triples. Later in the half, Easton Fulmer kept the three-point party going with a triple of his own to regain the lead at 16-14.
With 8:13 to go in the half Miller continued to heat up from long range with back-to-back three-pointers as Edinboro trailed by one point. Miller's shots were the start of a 13-2 run by the Fighting Scots. Edinboro capped off the run with another triple from Fulmer, as they led 29-23.
Miller found the bottom of the net from three-point range for the fourth time in the half and gave Edinboro their largest lead of the game at seven points. Edinboro went into the halftime break with a 37-35 lead over the Griffins after shooting 9-16 from three.
In the second half Edinboro continued to fire from deep and was having success. Kierell Green and Miller each hit three-pointers on consecutive possessions to go up 45-42 with 14:28 to play.
With ten minutes to play Seton Hill would steal the lead and would not look back for the rest of the game. An instant 11-0 run from the Griffins quickly boosted their lead to eight points over the Scots. Later with 2:28 to play a jumper from the Griffins would give them their largest lead of the game at 80-68.
The Scots continued to fight as they countered with a 7-0 run as another three-pointer from Miller brought Edinboro within five points. Eventually Seton Hill would ice the game with free throws as the Griffins won 87-77.
Miller finished with a career-high 32 points along with eight three-pointers and seven rebounds.
Green went for his third double double of the season with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Edinboro will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Slippery Rock for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
