Edinboro, Pa. – Edinboro women won out 117-73 with seven first place finishes. The men's team earned two first place finishes, with competitive times across the afternoon's races.
The 200 medley relay team of
Leia Ross,
Paige Smith,
Stephanie Sipple and
Makayla Scheu took first in a time of 1:49.77, just shy of their season best.
Avery Zuk was again in good form in the 200 freestyle, turning in a first place time of 2:01.63.
The 50 freestyle saw Edinboro score first and third place finishes.
Makayla Scheu shot to the finish in first at 25.32.
Kristen Sipple placed third in a time of 26.28.
Ted Kinney placed first in the 50 freestyle for the men's first victory of the day, finishing at 22.17.
Luke Edmonds finished third at 22.36.
Fighting Scots women made it a one two in the 200 IM.
Paige Smith took first at 2:10.91, followed by
Lara De Carne at 2:15.59.
Gerardo Gonzalez Ruiz put in a PSAC qualifying time of 2:02.80 to take third place in the men's 200 IM.
The 200 butterfly saw the women dominate, taking all three top places.
Stephanie Sipple was first to the wall at 2:09.02.
Rebecca Stone took second at 2:18.86, with
Abigail Greene topping off a terrific race at 2:24.43.
Elijah Innis put in a season best time of 2:02.70 to clinch PSAC qualification in the 200 butterfly, placing second on the day.

Makayla Scheu and
Kristen Sipple all placed in the top three in the 100 free. Zuk took first at 55.04 with a season best performance. Scheu placed second in a PSAC time of 55.21. Sipple just missed out on a PSAC time in third place at 57.74.
Luke Edmonds put in a strong performance for the men in the 100 free, narrowly missing a PSAC time in second place at 49.95.
The 200 backstroke saw
Leia Ross put in an impressive season best time of 2:10.23 for first place.
Lara De Carne also placed second with a PSAC time of 2:15.92. On the men's side
Gerardo Gonzalez Ruiz beat his season best at 2:00.46 for a third place finish.
Shane Steffy took third in the 500 free smashing his season best with a PSAC time of 5:23.11.
Daniel Hastings topped off a strong race by all swimmers with a PSAC time of 5:26.56.
Edinboro travel to Gannon University for their penultimate regular season meet on Friday, Jan. 20 with races beginning at 5 p.m.
