Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to host Gannon Friday night at the AHN Event Center.
 
In the first set, the Scots battled trailing 21-19 
Makayla Neelands recorded a kill and then teamed up with 
Erika Lindqvist to notch a block and tie the score 21-21. Journey Blevins gave Gannon a 22-21 lead, but Edinboro grabbed a 23-22 lead with a 
Kathryn Raschilla kill and 
Emelia Rowell service ace. The see-saw swung back to Gannon with back-to-back points to take a 24-23 advantage. 
Bella Burrelli tied the score, but Gannon scored two straight to take the first 26-24.
 
In the second, the Golden Knights jumped out to a 21-14 lead in the second. The Scots answered with a 4-1 spurt to cut the lead to 22-18, but that was as close as the set would get with Gannon scoring a 25-20 win.
 
Edinboro led 10-9 in the third, before Gannon scored four straight to take a 13-10 lead. The Scots came back with a 4-1 run knotting the score at 14-14. Gannon opened up an 18-15 lead, but a Raschilla block and Rowell ace trimmed the lead to 18-17. The Scots wouldn't get any closer as Gannon took a 25-20 win in the third.
 
Burrelli led the Scots with 10 kills. 
Natalie Pallone chipped in seven and Neelands added six. Rowell finished with four service aces. 
Abigale Soboleski led the offense with 16 assists.
 
Defensively, 
Carly Pry tallied 15 digs while Burrelli chipped in 13. Linqvist and Pallone each tallied two blocks.
 
The Scots are back in action next Friday when they host Seton Hill at 6 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse.
