Johnstown, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to host Pitt-Johnstown Saturday afternoon in PSAC West action.
The Scots dropped the opening set 25-19 and fell behind 11-8 in the second. Four straight points put Edinboro ahead 12-11. Edinboro built the lead to 18-15, but the Mountain Cats scored two straight to trim the lead to 18-17.
Natalie Pallone picked up three kills as part of a 5-0 run to extend the lead to 23-17 as the Scots went on to win 25-18.
Edinboro jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the third, but seven straight points by UPJ erased the lead. Kills by Pallone and
Bella Burrelli made 14-12 Edinboro, but UPJ scored six in a row and went on to a 25-16 third set victory. The Mountain Cats got out of the gate quick in the fourth building a 22-11 lead. The Scots fought back with an 8-2 spurt, but UPJ held off the surge to take the fourth 25-19.
Pallone led the Scots with 13 kills.
Makayla Neelands added 10 kills and Erika Linqvist tallied nine.
Abigale Soboleski notched 23 assists and
Laney Burns dished out 15 to go with four service aces.
Carly Pry recorded 30 digs while Lindqvist paced the defense with six blocks.
The Scots are back in action on Friday when they host Slippery Rock at 6 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse.
