Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team fell 75-63 to visiting Millersville Monday afternoon in PSAC crossover action inside McComb Fieldhouse.
Millersville jumped out to a 17-8 lead after a CJ McPherson layup at the 13:10 mark of the first half. The Scots answered with a 6-2 spurt keyed by four points from
Daunte Wilcott to trim the lead to 19-14 with 11:01 left in the opening half. Matt Dade capped a 16-4 run with a jumper at the 5:50 mark to push the lead to 35-19.
The Scots clawed back closing the first on a 12-4 run of their with five different Edinboro players scoring.
Bernie Blunt ended the run with a triple at the 1:23 mark of the first sending the Scots into the locker room down 39-31.
Drew Stover extended the lead with the first bucket of the second half, but buckets from Wilcott and JJ Euback cut the deficit to 41-35. Wilcott scored at the 13:13 mark of the second to make the score 53-45 Millersville. The Marauders notched the next six points to push the lead back to 59-45 with 10:57 on the clock.
The Scots got as close as 10 on three different occasions, but couldn't get back to single figures the rest of the way.
Blunt continued his strong offensive play tallying 23 points to go with five rebounds. Wilcott added 13 points and four boards. Eubank tallied nine points.
Stover tallied a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Marauders. Jaden Faulkner notched 18 points while Dade chipped in 10.
The Scots are back in action on Tuesday when they host Shepherd at 3 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse.
