Erie, Pa. – The Fighting Scots fell to a 20-3 result away at Mercyhurst on Tuesday afternoon.
A commanding first quarter saw the Lakers ahead without reply, 13-0. 11 different scorers were on the scoresheet in the first quarter for Mercyhurst.
Edinboro came out with much improved defensive efforts in the remaining quarters. Reducing the Lakers efforts at goal whilst also creating chances of their own.
Edinboro found a breakthrough in the third quarter through
Emma Lamica, thanks to a
Lizzy Stokes assist. Lamica now has 13 goals in her first season for Edinboro, Stokes added her first assist of the season.
The remainder of the game saw back and forth action with chances going both ways.
Rylee Jones netted her 31st goal of the season in the fourth quarter. Jones then went onto assist Edinboro's third goal with
Caroline Zentis scoring her 15th of the year.
Savannah Fischer made it back-to-back games with 12 saves for Edinboro, taking her to 91 saves on the season.
