Edinboro, Pa. –
Emily Vogel scored her second goal of the game with 3:38 to play to help the Fighting Scots to a 2-2 tie with visiting Notre Dame College on Wednesday night at Sox Harrison Stadium.
The Scots trailed 2-1 when Vogel chipped a shot from the top of the box that kissed the crossbar and found the back of the net knotting the game at 2-2 with 3:38 to play. Edinboro had several chances but the clock ran out with the score tied.
The Falcons struck first when Mia Maruna got loose on a breakaway on a pass from Kalie Blaising to grab a 1-0 lead at the 13:05 mark of the first half.
It was Vogel that leveled the score for Edinboro in the 20
th minute turning the ball to her left foot and beating the keeper clean.
Ashley Rainho scored just over two minutes into the second half to give Notre Dame the advantage that set up Vogel's equalizer.
The Scots outshot the Falcons 11-9 overall and 8-7 in shots on goal. Edinboro had five corners to three for Notre Dame.
Kaylee Lauriel made five stops in net while allowing two goals. Vogel recorded three shots while
Gabby Ellsworth tallied a pair of shots.
The Scots return to action on Saturday when they visit Malone. Kickoff is scheduled 3:30 p.m.
