California, Pa.- The Edinboro women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to host Cal Friday night in PSAC West action.

In the opening set Cal held a 19-15 lead after an Allie Droneberger kill.
Bella Burrelli notched a kill and two Vulcan errors cut the lead to 19-18. Cal would go on a 4-1 run to build the lead back to 23-19 before taking the first set 25-21.

The Scots jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the second set and built the lead up to 18-9 on a
Natalie Pallone kill. Cal answered back with 10 straight points to take a 19-18 lead. Edinboro tied the score at 19, but six straight points from Cal made it 2-0 with a 25-19 set victory.

Holding a 17-15 lead in the third, Edinboro extended the lead with back-to-back kills by
Sydnee Jones and
Makayla Neelands. Cal closed the gap to 24-23, but Pallone put the set away with a kill to cut the match lead to 2-1.

The Vulcans led 10-8 in the fourth and went on a 10-4 run building a 20-12 lead and went on to win the fourth set 25-15.

Neelands paced the Edinboro offense with 11 kills while Pallone chipped in 10.
Abigale Soboleski tallied 21 assists and
Laney Burns added 16 helpers.
Carly Pry and Soboleski each tallied 19 digs. Jones and Pallone each added three blocks.

Droneberger led the Vulcan attack with 15 kills. Rachel Simon dished out 43 assists. Tayla Pascoe chipped in 17 digs.

The Scots return to action on Saturday when they travel to Slippery Rock for a 4 p.m. showdown with the Rock.
