Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team dropped a 117-96 decision to No. 14 Gannon Wednesday night in PSAC West action inside McComb Fieldhouse.
On a night where offenses were on full display,
Bernie Blunt led all scorers with 33 points shooting 8-of-16 from the field, 6-of-10 from beyond the arc and going 11-of-11 from the charity stripe.
JJ Eubank checked in with 15 points.
Madior Seye just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Daunte Wilcott also scored in double figures with 10 points.
Gannon jumped out early hitting 3-pointers on each of their first three possessions to go up 9-0 at the 18:48 mark of the first half. The Scots trimmed the lead to 11-5 with a Seye jumper and Blunt triple at 17:49.
The Golden Knights used a 22-10 run to extend the lead to 33-15 with 10:33 remaining in the first. Edinboro would trim the lead to 16 twice the last 37-21 after a pair of Blunt free throws at 8:52, but Gannon pushed the pace and took a 64-38 lead into the half. The Scots pushed in the second half, but were not able to cut into the Gannon advantage.
Edinboro finished with a solid shooting night from long range going 11-of-33 and from the free throw line where they were 21-of-28. The Scots also outrebounded the Golden Knights 37-36.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they take on UPJ. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse.
