Swimming Set for PennWest Duals at Clarion on Saturday

Clarion, Pa. – The Edinboro swim teams will compete in their final tune up before conference championships when they swim in a tri-meet with Clarion and California (Pa.).
 
The Meet
Clarion is hosting the PennWest Duals at Waldo S. Tippin Natatorium. Swimming is slated to begin at noon.
 
Last Time Out Women
The Edinboro women dropped a 135-95 decision to Gannon. Leia Ross, Emma Beggs, Alexis Schrecongost and Lillian Dilts finished second in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:51.81.
 
Schrecongost added a first-place swim in the 200 IM touching the wall in 2:15.35. Ross also tallied a pair of first-place finishes with a time of 2:11.71 in the 200 backstroke and 2:29.60 in the 200 breaststroke.
 
Lara De Carne also picked up a pair of first-place times. She finished in a time of 1:56.62 in the 200-yard freestyle and then touched the wall in a time of 54.23 in the 100-freestyle.
 
Izzy Hanek posted a time of 25.00 in the 50 freestyle to take first. She finished just behind Ross in the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:12.71. Beggs was second to Ross in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:32.50.
 
The meet closed with the Scots scoring first in the 400-freestyle relay with Hanek, Schrecongost, Dilts and De Carne finishing in 3:40.45.
 
Last Time Out Men
Edinboro fell 154-71 to Gannon in their latest action. Armando Apigna, Jacob Bettano, Elijah Innis and Frank Barger teamed up to finish second in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:38.19.
 
Tommy Collins tallied a first-place swim in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.22. Innis posted a time of 46.85 in the 100-yard freestyle to take home first place.
 
Apigna touched the wall in 1:59.19 in the 200-yard backstroke to earn a first-place finish. Ted Kinney added a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.24.
 
The Scots finished the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Innis, Barger, Collins and Kinney turned in a time of 3:16.10.

This is the final tune up for the Scots before the PSAC Championship Meet Feb.14-17 in Carlisle, Pa.
