Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Gannon Friday night in PSAC West action inside McComb Fieldhouse.
In the opening set, the score was tied 19-19 after a pair of Gannon errors. The Golden Knights closed out the set on a 6-1 run to take the set 25-20. In the second, Gannon jumped out to a 15-7 lead. The Scots answered with a 10-6 run to trim the lead to 21-17 before Gannon took the set 25-20.
Edinboro held a 7-6 lead in the third before Gannon rallied with a 9-4 spurt to take a 15-11 lead. The Scots scored the next two points, but Gannon closed out the set on a 10-5 run to win the match.
Erika Lindqvist and
Makayla Neelands each tallied 10 kills to lead the Edinboro offense. Lindqvist also tallied four blocks, three solo.
Abigale Soboleski triggered the offense with 22 assists and
Carly Pry led the defense with 17 digs.
Journey Blevins led the Gannon offense with 13 kills. Bengisu Arslan tallied 37 assists and Emma Hall chipped in a team-high 16 digs.
The Scots are back in action next Friday when they host Seton Hill at 6 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse.
