Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team fell 3-2 to visiting Seton Hill Friday night in PSAC West action inside McComb Fieldhouse.
The Scots were level with Seton Hill 17-17 in the first set. The Griffins scored eight straight points to take the opening set 25-17.
Edinboro jumped out 13-8 in the second after a
Rita Campos kill. The Griffins answered with a 5-2 run to trim the lead to 15-13.
Makayla Neelands recorded a kill to push the lead to 16-13, but Seton Hill knotted the score at 16-16 with three straight kills. The score was still tied at 19-19 before the Scots closed out the set with a 6-2 run to win the set 25-21 and level the match at one set each.
In the third, the Scots jumped out to an 18-9 lead and never looked back taking the set 25-13. In the fourth, the Scots rallied from a 19-14 deficit to tie the set at 23-23. Edinboro held a 26-15 lead, but the Griffins scored the final three points to take the set 28-26. In the final set, Seton Hill jumped out 7-2 on their way to a 15-7 victory.
Makayla Neelands led the Scots with 13 kills.
Erika Lindqvist tallied 11 kills and led the Scots with four blocks.
Abigale Soboleski triggered the offense with 21 assists.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they host Slippery Rock at 3 p.m.
