Men’s Basketball Falls at East Stroudsburg

East Stroudsburg, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team dropped a tough 73-69 decision to host East Stroudsburg Sunday afternoon in PSAC action.
 
Ryan Ladjevich put Edinboro ahead 65-58 with a pair of free throws with 4:45 to play. Cam Young scored back-to-back buckets to cut the lead to 65-62 heading into the final media timeout of the game.
 
Ethan Milliorns hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at the 2:50 mark. Ladjevich gave the Scots the lead back with a layup at the 2:33 mark. Lakeem McAliley put the Warriors up 68-67 with a triple with 2:13 to play. Daunte Wilcott answered with a layup with 1:54 remaining, but East Stroudsburg scored the final five points to take the win.
 
The Scots trailed by 10, 48-38, after a McAliley 3-pointer with 17:21 on the clock in the second half. Cenker Evran scored the next eight points to cut the lead to 48-46 sparking an 18-0 run capped by a Steve Kelly layup to put Edinboro ahead 56-48 with 11:39 left in the game.
 
East Stroudsburg jumped out early in the game after Carson Howard made it 15-8 with a tip-in at the 17:19 mark of the first half. Michael Dunn hit a trey and Evan Berger a layup to trim the lead to 15-13 with 16:35 on the clock.
 
A 9-6 spurt for the Warriors extended the lead to 24-19 at the 10:01 mark of the first half after a Davon Lee layup. The Scots answered with an 13-4 run keyed by a pair of Ladjevich 3-pointers put Edinboro ahead 32-28 with 4:09 left in the half.
 
East Stroudsburg closed out the first half with a 14-2 run to grab a 42-34 lead heading into the half.
 
Evran led four Scots in double figures with 16 points to go with eight rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two steals. Wilcott tallied 13 points and six rebounds as well as four assists. Ladjevich scored 12 points and chipped in three boards and three helpers. Dunn was the fourth Scot in double figures with 11 points.
 
McAliley led all scorers with 23 points while also grabbing seven rebounds. Young added 14 points for the Warriors.
 
The Scots are back in action on Dec. 17 when they host Lock Haven at 5 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse.
