Greensburg, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team dropped an 81-60 decision to host Seton Hill Saturday in PSAC West action.
The Scots got out to a 6-4 lead after a
Madior Seye layup at the 17:09 mark. Seton Hill went on an 11-1 run to take a 15-7 lead with 15:08 on the clock.
Edinboro answered back with a 7-2 spurt capped by an
Ian McNeill layup with 11:15 left in the first half. The Griffins scored the next seven points to push the advantage to 24-14. The Scots trimmed the lead to 27-20 after a
JJ Eubank trey with 5:21 on the clock. The Griffins closed the half on an 11-6 spurt to take a 38-26 edge into the locker room.
Bernie Blunt cut the lead to 10, 38-28, with the first bucket of the second half, but six straight points for the Griffins pushed the lead to 44-28 with 17:08 left to play. Edinboro would get as close as 55-44, on a
Will Taylor at the 11:03 mark, but that was as close as it would get.
Blunt tallied 14 points, four rebounds and two assists. Eubank added 12 points, two boards shooting 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.
Jack Gallagher added nine points, four boards and two assists. Seye pulled down 12 rebounds to go with seven points.
Caleb Whitaker paced the Griffins with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jimmy Moon added 14 points and five boards.
The Scots are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Slippery Rock for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
