Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro men's basketball team dropped a 124-88 decision to host Gannon Wednesday night inside the Haggerty Family Events Center in PSAC West play.
The Scots got out to a 5-3 lead on a
Ryan Ladjevich triple and a pair of
Daunte Wilcott free throws. The Golden Knights scored the next seven points to take a 10-5 lead on a Ernest Shelton layup at the 15:39 mark.
Jack Gallagher connected on a trey at the 15:16 to cut the lead to 10-8 at the 15:16 mark.
Gannon caught fire from beyond the arc going 9-of-19 and 28-of-47 from the field in general to take a 69-36 lead into the half.
The Golden Knights continued to be efficient from the field shooing 20-of-37 in the second half to with the lead never falling below 35 in the second half.
Bernie Blunt paced the Edinboro offense with 20 points to go with three steals.
Will Taylor finished the game with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Shelton led Gannon with 21 points including 5-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc. Josh Omojafo added 20 points while Lyle Tipton scored 19.
The Scots are back in action for a 3 p.m. tipoff against UPJ in Johnstown.
