Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-8 decision to host Merychurst Wednesday night in PSAC West action at Saxon Stadium.
 
How it Happened
The Lakers jumped out early on the Scots taking a 6-0 lead after the first quarter. Mercyhurst scored twice more in the second before 
Marissa Birchard scored to get Edinboro on the board. The Lakers scored once more to take a 9-1 lead into the half.
 
Birchard scored the first goal of the third quarter and the teams played an even quarter and Mercyhurst held an 11-3 lead heading to the fourth. The Scots trimmed the lead to 13-6 with 7:28 to play on a goal by 
Rylee Jones, but two Mercyhurst goals opened the lead back up and held off the Edinboro rally.
 
Statistical Leaders
Jones, Birchard and 
Angelina Anderson each tallied three points on two goals and one assist. Tracy Culver and 
Jacqui Detelich each notched a goal and 
Kenna Sinisgalli added a helper.

Addy Ours made 14 saves and took the loss in the cage for the Scots.

The Scots are back in action on Saturday with a trip to Gannon. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
