Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Slippery Rock in PSAC West action on Saturday.
The Scots came out of the gate fast when
Virginia Zabala sprung
Emily Vogel for a breakaway. Vogel finished with the right foot to put the Scots up 1-0 just 1:02 into the contest.
The Rock answered when Abby Paterline collected a loose ball at the top of the box and beat the keeper to the to tie the game at 1-1 in the fourth minute.
Bailey McGee gave Slippery Rock their first lead in the 42
nd minute to send the Rock into the locker room up 2-1.
In the 78
th minute, Allie Burns added an insurance marker to set the final.
Jada Cole recorded three shots for the Fighting Scots including a shot off the post. Vogel added a pair of shots on goal to her early tally.
Brianna Garey made five saves in net.
The Scots return to action on Wednesday when they host California (PA) at 7 p.m. inside Sox Harrison.
