Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's soccer team scored a 3-1 PSAC West victory over visiting California (Pa.) in a rain-soaked Sox Harrison Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Vulcans scored first in the 19
th minute when Ella Kaszeta headed home an Izabella DeGlopper corner kick.
Madison Felton leveled the score driving a free kick from just outside the box low around the wall and off the left post and in in the 28
th minute sending the teams to the locker room tied 1-1.
The wind and rain helped keep the score tied through most of the second half before
Kiada Oliveria scored her first collegiate goal on a pass from
Elise Cacchione to make it 2-1 Scots in the 75
th minute.
Felton converted another free kick into a goal scoring to the lower left this time from the arc just outside the 18 to set the final in the 83
rd minute.
The Scots outshot Cal 13-10 overall and 9-5 in shots on goal. Edinboro also held the edge in corners 11-5.
Brianna Garey made four saves picking up the win in net. Felton, Oliveria,
Teaghan Watkins and
Jada Cole all tallied a pair of shots for the Scots.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Seton Hill. Game time is slated for noon.
