Youngstown, Ohio – The Edinboro swim teams continued their strong performances at the Youngstown State Invitational breaking three school records on Friday.
The women's 200-medley relay team of
Katelyn Reott,
Alexis Schrecongost,
Lillian Dilts and
Izzy Hanek came off the blocks hot breaking the pool and Edinboro record with a swim of 1:44.15.
The other two record breaking swims came from the men.
Andrew Ketler shattered the 100-fly record with a time of 48.74.
Rafael De Sousa broke a 31-year old record with a swim of 1:41.17 in the 200-freestyle.
Christian Connell climbed up to fourth all-time in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 57.58 taking fourth at the Invitational.
Jake Hillibush was seventh in a time of 58.14.
The men's 200-medley relay team of
Braden Hain, Hillibush, Kettler and DeSousa placed third with a swim of 1:33.16. Joining Kettler in the 100-fly A final was
Elijah Innis who turned in a 52.67 to place eighth.
In the men's 400-IM
Ben Carpeal made the A final swimming a 4:30.87 good for seventh.
Tyler Hill turned in an eighth-place swim in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:46.94. Hain placed sixth in the 100-back with a time of 52.15.
Uxue Navarro was third in the 100-butterfly touching the wall in 57.20. Dilts also made the 100-fly A final finishing sixth in a time of 58.65.
Cara Della Toffalo and
Anna Mehlenbacher were both in the A final of the 200-freestyle. Della Toffalo was sixth with at time of 2:01.22 and Mehlenbacher's 2:03.88 was good for eighth.
Schrecongost posted a 1:05.50 in the 100-breaststroke to place fourth.
Emma Beggs was seventh in a time of 1:07.36 and
Kaileigh Smith swam a 1:08.52 to place eighth.
In the 100-backstroke, Hanek brought home fifth with a time of 59.30. Reott swam a 50-yard freestyle time trial posting a 23.07 currently the fifth fastest time in all of Division II.
The Scots wrap up their first semester competition on Saturday with the final day at the Youngstown State Invitational.
