Griffith and Hamilton Join Edinboro Football Staff

Edinboro, Pa. – Edinboro head football coach Matt Scott announced the addition of two staff members on Tuesday.

Zach Griffith joins the Fighting Scots as the offensive coordinator while Tyler Hamilton will be the offensive line coach.

Griffith has spent the six seasons at Western Connecticut State serving as the offensive Coordinator for the past four seasons. In 2024, the Wolves offense was prolific scoring 49.2 points per game the fourth most in Division III. The season before Western Connecticut State ranked 16th nationally in points per game with 42.8. The Wolves were also top 20 nationally in yards per game in both 2023 and 2024 with averages of 467.8 and 456.4 respectively.

"I am excited and grateful to be named the Offensive Coordinator at Edinboro," said Griffith. "Thank you to Coach Scott and the entire Edinboro family for this opportunity.  I can't wait to get to work with our players and staff to build something special."

Across four seasons as a play caller for the Wolves, Griffith's offense averaged 38.5 points and 419.2 yards per game. Western Connecticut State posted a 44-18 record in his tenure. Prior to being the offensive coordinator, he coached the Wolves' wide receivers. Eight Western Connecticut wide receivers were earned First-Team All-Conference honors on his watch. He was named the 2023 Region I Offensive Coordinator of the Year.

"Zach brings a wealth of knowledge; he is very meticulous in his approach," said Scott. "He did a tremendous job at Western Connecticut, and I can't wait to see how he shapes our offense and works with our young men."

Hamilton spent last season as the tight ends coach for Susquehanna University. The Riverhawks won the 2024 Landmark Conference Championship. Susquehanna tight end Rowen Hershey was First-Team All-Landmark last season under Hamilton's watch.

Prior to his time at Susquehanna, Hamilton spent two years as the tight ends and assistant offensive line coach at New Haven. He also spent a season as the assistant offensive line coach at his alma mater, the University of Maryland.

"I had the opportunity to work with Tyler at New Haven and saw first-hand his attention to detail and his ability to teach," said Scott. "He knows what it takes to be successful. He's had great mentors that have helped shape him as a coach. He's passionate about the position, and he will do a great job developing our offensive line."
