Women’s Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Matchup to Tiffin

Tiffin, Ohio – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-9 decision to host Tiffin Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
 
Trailing 1-0 early, Kenna Sinisgalli scored back-to-back goals at 12:36 and 7:15 respectively to give the Scots a 2-1 lead. Rylee Jones extended the advantage at the 5:17 mark with an unassisted tally.
 
Tiffin scored to trim the lead to 3-2, but Angelina Anderson finished a Jacqui Detelich pass on the player advantage to go up 4-2 after one quarter.
 
In the second quarter, the Dragons scored three straight goals in the first 3:34 to retake the lead 5-4. Detelich tied the game 5-5 with 9:00 minutes left in the first half and Olivia Kaminisky gave the Scots the lead with her woman-up goal at the 3:51 mark. Kenna Wigginton scored the equalizer with 2:29 in left in the second to send the teams to the locker room tied at 6-6.
 
Wigginton scored the first goal of the second half sparking a 3-0 run for Tiffin to go up 9-6 at the 8:20 mark of the third. Detelich scored unassisted with 8:00 to play to cut the lead to 9-7 and the rest of the third would pass scoreless.
 
In the final frame Birchard scored with 12:04 remaining to pull Edinboro within one, 9-8, but three straight goals from the Dragons pushed the lead to 12-8 with 1:54 to play. Sinisgalli completed the hat trick with 49 seconds left to set the final.
 
Detelich led the offense with four points on two goals and two assists. Sinisgalli netted three goals on four shots. Jones also notched multiple points with a goal and an assist. Addy Ours made 15 saves while taking the loss between the pipes.
 
The Scots are back in action with their home opener on Wednesday when they host Lock Haven. Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
