Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-6 decision to visiting Lock Haven Wednesday afternoon.
The Bald Eagles got out to a 3-0 lead on a goal by Gabby Gunnip and a pair Kaitlyn Collins.
Angelina Anderson scored an unassisted tally at the 5:53 mark to trim the lead to 3-1. Lock Haven finished the first with two more goals to take a 5-1 lead after the first.
In the second, Lock Haven netted the first four goals to build a 9-1 lead at the 9:17 mark of the second.
Marissa Birchard scored unassisted at 5:23. Peyton Masters extended the advantage to 10-2 at the half.
The teams played even in the third quarter with
Jacqui Detelich scoring twice for the Scots and the Bald Eagles holding a 12-4 advantage heading to the fourth.
Lock Haven scored the first three goals of the fourth to build a 15-4 lead with 7:47 to pay.
Rylee Jones scored an end-to-end goal to cut the lead to 15-5 at the 4:01 mark. Detelich scored her third of the game with 45 seconds to go to cut the advantage to 15-6. Maggie Milkoich set the final with her goal at the 9 second mark.
Detelich led the way with three goals for the Scots. Jones, Birchard and Anderson each tallied a goal while
Olivia Kaminsky chipped in a helper.
Sydney Kosko took the loss in net making five saves.
Addy Ours made 10 saves in relief.
The Scots are back in action on Sunday when they host Davis & Elkins at 1 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
