Women’s Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Matchup to Davis & Elkins

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team fell 12-8 to visiting Davis & Elkins Sunday afternoon in a non-conference matchup inside Sox Harrison Stadium.
 
The teams played a tight first quarter. Emelia Johnson opened the scoring at the 9:14 mark with an unassisted tally. Jacqui Detelich tied the game with 7:13 remaining in the opening quarter. The 1-1 tie would hold to the end of the quarter.
 
Rylee Jones gave the Scots the lead in the second scoring just over a minute into the quarter with the woman advantage. Ari Hinton tied the score for the Senators at the 12:11 mark of the second. The teams traded goals tying the score 3-3 with 7:40 to play. Detelich scored her second of the game with 7:24 left in the opening half to give Edinboro a 4-3 lead. Marissa Birchard extended the lead with 49 seconds to play with an unassisted tally of her own. Johnson netted her second of the contest to cut the lead to 5-4 with 37 seconds left. Angelina Anderson scored with 23 seconds on the clock to send the Scots into the half up 6-4.
 
The Senators came out of the half and outscored Edinboro 4-0 in the third quarter to take an 8-6 advantage into the final quarter.
 
Jones cut the lead to 8-7 with a goal 23 seconds into the fourth quarter. Davis & Elkins scored the next four goals led by a pair from Hinton to extend the lead to 12-7. Jones scored with 33 seconds left to set the final.
 
Jones paced the Edinboro offense with four points on three goals and one assist. Detelich finished the game with two goals and a helper for three points. Anderson netted a pair of goals.
 
Addy Ours took the loss between the pipes making 14 saves in 60 minutes of work.
 
The Scot are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Slippery Rock for a PSAC West contest. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
