Jones Sets Caused Turnover Record; Women’s Lacrosse Falls to No. 21 Slippery Rock

Slippery Rock, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-3 decision to No. 21 Slippery Rock Wednesday afternoon in PSAC West play.
 
The Rock got out to a fast start opening the game on an 11-0 run in the first quarter. Laurelle Surette made it 12-0 with a goal at the 11:32 mark of the second quarter.
 
Jacqui Detelich stopped the Rock run scoring an unassisted tally at the 9:20 mark of the second quarter. Ava Dossier scored with 6:39 on the clock to take a 13-1 lead at the break.
 
Slippery Rock pushed the lead to 16-1 after a Claire Petty goal with 9:43 remaining in the third. Rylee Jones scored for the Scots at the 5:05 mark cutting the lead to 16-2. Maddie Blazy extended the lead to 17-2 after three.
 
Surrette scored to make it 18-2 with 10:47 left in the fourth. Detelich netted her second goal of the game to trim the lead to 18-3 with 8:24 left. Cadyn Eismann scored the final goal of the game to set the final.
 
Detelich scored a pair of goals on three shots. Jones added two caused turnovers giving her the Edinboro school record.
 
The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they take on No. 15 Seton Hill. Game time is slated for noon.
