Women’s Lacrosse Drops PSAC West Contest to Seton Hill

Edinboro, Pa. - The Edinboro women's lacrosse team fell 20-4 to Seton Hill Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium.

Before the start of today's match, Edinboro honored their four seniors Natalia Corrales, Morgan King, Angelina Anderson, and Haylee Wilson

The Scots were the first to score in the match, with an unassisted goal from Jacqui Detelich, two and a half minutes into the first quarter. The Griffins proceeded to score four unanswered goals from Mila Udovicic, Grace Agnello, Ruby DePalma, and Amara Forsyth. DePalma tallied three assists and Agnello was credited with one, ending the first quarter with a score of 4-1.

Seton Hill struck early in the second quarter, 46 seconds in Skylar Orlowski scored an unassisted goal, and 35 seconds later Ella Wroblewski, assisted by Orlowski, advanced the Griffins to a 6-1 lead. With 12:43 on the clock, Rylee Jones broke Seton Hill's streak of six consecutive goals, with an unassisted goal. In four minutes the Griffins scored five unanswered goals, Brooklyn Miller and Carley O'Mara scored their first goals of the match, Agnello tallied three goals, and Orlowski was credited with three assists. With 5:32 left in the second quarter, Jones scored her second goal of the match, making the score 11-3. Udovicic made the last goal of the second quarter with an unassisted goal 45 seconds later, bringing the score to 12-3 as the teams headed into the locker rooms.

The third quarter was all Seton Hill as they scored five consecutive goals, Udovicic with her third goal of the match, O'Mara and Orlowski both scored their second, Isabella Falcone with her first, and Agnello with her fifth. Orlowski and Udovicic were both credited with two assists and Mariah Williams tallied one. The quarter ended with a score of 17-3.

In the fourth quarter, the Griffins picked up where they left off, scoring two unanswered goals, Wroblewski with an assist from DePalma, and Sydney Marusko assisted by Elena Traficante. With 7:41 on the clock Olivia Kaminsky, assisted by Haylee Wilson, broke the Seton Hill streak of eight consecutive goals and brought the score to 19-4. Less than four minutes left in the game, Marusko assisted by Wroblewski, scored the last goal of the match, bringing the final score to 20-4.

Jones led the offense with four draw controls, two goals, and two points, Detelich and Kaminsky each tallied one goal and one point, and Kaminsky was credited with five draw controls.

Addy Ours took the loss in the cage, but her 15 saves in 45 minutes brought her to 300 career saves, the fourth most career saves in school history. Sydney Kosko made four saves in 15 minutes of relief work.

The Scots are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Gannon, for a 6 p.m. contest.
