California, Pa. – The Edinboro soccer team turned in a strong defensive showing defeating host California (Pa.) 1-0 Saturday afternoon in PSAC West action.
 
The teams played a tight first half with the Scots recording two shots and the Vulcans recording three sending the teams into the locker room tied 0-0.
 
In the second half, it was Jada Cole that broke the tie. She scored an unassisted tally in the 79^th minute her eighth of the season.
 
The Fighting Scot defense made that goal stand up keeping the Vulcans off the board in the final 11 minutes.
 
Brianna Garey made six saves for her third clean sheet of the season. Cole added three shots to her goal. Grace Madison also tallied a pair of shots.
 
The Scots move to 4-3 on the season and 2-2 in PSAC West play. They are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Clarion for a 7 p.m. start.
