Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro offense found its touch as the Scots pitched a shutout in a 4-0 victory over Ursuline in the home opener Saturday afternoon inside Sox Harrison Stadium.
After the teams felt each other early before
Emily Vogel opened the scoring. The Arrows went to clear from the box and found Vogel's foot. She took the shot from just outside the 18 to the lower left making it 1-0 in the 28
th minute.
Just over two minutes later,
Madison Felton put a shot off a free kick on goal and
Jada Cole pounced on the rebound to extend the lead to 2-0. The Scots took that 2-0 lead into the break.
Cole scored her second of the contest in the 54
th minute when she corralled a loose ball and shot it low past the goalie pushing the lead to 3-0.
Sonoka Shiokawa wrapped up the scoring for the Scots chipping a ball over the keeper in the 58
th minute.
Cole led the offense with six total shots leading to a pair of goals.
Brianna Garey made five saves on the day recording her first career shutout.
The Scots are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Point Park for a 7 p.m. kickoff with the Pioneers.
