Box Score (New/Sortable Format) CLARION, Pa. — Edinboro lost to Clarion 3-1 on Saturday, with set scores of 20-25, 17-25, 25-20 and 22-25. The Fighting Scots were limited to a .075 hitting percentage and 39 kills, while the Golden Eagles finished at .157 with 52 kills.

The Scots opened the first set with the first two points and later used kills from Reilly Parent and Christina Lockett to turn a 7-6 deficit into an 8-7 lead, but the Golden Eagles stayed level and the teams were tied at 11-11. Clarion scored the next four points, including a Taylor Haupt kill, to go in front 15-11 before a service error, a Golden Eagles setting error and Makayla Neelands' ace brought the Scots within 15-14. After Clarion pushed the score to 16-14, D'Aira Whitner's kill and two Golden Eagles attack errors put the Fighting Scots ahead 17-16. Clarion answered with Emily Klopp's kill and consecutive Natalie Karrick kills during a stretch that made it 20-17. The Scots got late kills from Parent and Taylor Pucky, but the Golden Eagles reached set point on Karrick's kill and took the set 25-20 on an Edinboro attack error.

After the Scots took the first point, Clarion scored seven straight behind Lauren Fjerstad's serve, including two aces, to move ahead 7-1. The Fighting Scots answered with four straight points, getting back-to-back kills from Whitner, a Josephine Bailey block and a Parent kill to cut the margin to 7-5. The Golden Eagles kept separation from there, and after the Scots stayed within 9-7. Clarion scored four straight points to push the lead to 13-7. Parent's ace later brought the Fighting Scots within 19-15, but Clarion took six of the final eight points, with Natalie Karrick putting down kills on the Golden Eagles' last three points to close the set 25-17.

The Scots scored the first four points of the third set on Grace Petro's serve, getting a Whitner kill, a Lockett kill and two blocks during the opening stretch. Clarion worked back to a 6-5 lead behind kills from Finley Kearney and Emily Klopp and a Kalina Powell ace. Whitner tied it with a kill before Faith Schneider served six straight points as the Fighting Scots moved ahead 12-6. The Golden Eagles later trimmed the gap to 18-14, but a Lockett block stopped that stretch, and the Scots reached set point at 24-18 before closing the set 25-20 on a Clarion attack error.

The Fighting Scots opened the fourth set with four straight points, getting a Pucky kill from Petro, Pucky's service ace, a Lockett/D'Aira Whitner block and a Whitner kill. Clarion came back to tie the set at 10-10, moved in front 12-11 on a block by Natalie Karrick and Finley Kearney, and the teams traded points through a 16-16 tie. The Golden Eagles created separation with a Cara Vandeborne kill and a Marisa Markou ace for an 18-16 lead. They extended the lead to 23-19 on a Kearney/Raegan Stader block, and after the Scots pulled within 24-22, Taylor Haupt's kill closed the set for Clarion, 25-22.

DAira Whitner led the Fighting Scots with 12 kills and 13.5 points, adding three block assists. Schneider collected 24 digs and added an assist. Petro distributed 23 assists and added four digs. Bailey posted five total blocks, including one solo block, and added a kill.
