Elkins, W.Va. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-10 decision to host Davis & Elkins 13-10 Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Senators opened the contest with a goal from Ke'ya Stevens at the 13:02 mark.
Rylee Jones scored unassisted to tie the game with 12:43 left in the first quarter. The teams traded chances until Savannah Quave put the Senators up 2-1 with four seconds to go in the first.
Davis & Elkins scored five goals to open the second and build a 7-1 lead after an Izzie Sevila tally with 2:57 on the clock.
Natalia Farr scored with 2:39 to go in the second quarter and
Angelina Anderson netted an unassisted goal of her own to cut the deficit to 7-3 at the half.
Ziola Giaramita opened the scoring in the second half to trim the lead to 7-4. Sevila and Rylee Anderson scored for Davis & Elkins to extend the lead to 9-4 with 7:25 left in the second.
Jacqui Detelich scored on either side of an
Olivia Kaminsky goal to pull the Scots within 9-7 at the end of the third.
Stevens pushed the lead to 10-7 to open the fourth. Jones scored at the 12:00 mark and Anderson scored a pair of goals to tie the score 10-10 with 9:55 to play. The Senators scored the final three goals of the game to win the game.
Anderson paced the Edinboro offense with four points on three goals and three assists. Jones and Detelich each notched a pair of goals and one assist for three points.
Sevilla led the Senators with five points on three goals and two assists. Stevens scored three goals and one helper for four points.
The Scots are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Chestnut Hill for a noon contest.
