EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-8 decision to visiting Gannon Wednesday afternoon inside Sox Harrison Stadium.
Jacqui Detelich opened the scoring with goals at 13:14 and 11:27 to put the Scots up 2-0 early. Gannon scored the next three goals to take a 3-2 lead with 48 seconds remaining in the opening frame. Detelich scored her third of the quarter with 27 seconds left to tie the game 3-3 after the first.
The Golden Knights got goals from Charlie Hunter and Megan Long to take a 5-3 lead at the 13:44 mark of the second quarter.
Angelina Anderson scored on a free position shot to trim the lead to 5-4. Detelich knotted the score 5-5 with her fourth of the contest with 1:47.
Natalia Farr gave the Scots a lead before the break scoring unassisted with 4 seconds remaining in the second.
Rylee Jones extended the Edinboro lead to 7-5 with a goal 1:11 into the third. The Golden Knights scored the final three goals of the third to take an 8-7 lead into the final frame.
Aylssa Lerch scored twice to open the fourth and put Gannon up 10-7 with 11:34 to play. Anderson pulled the Scots within 10-8 with an unassisted tally with 8:33 to play. Hunter set the final with a goal at the 6:36 mark.
Detelich led the offense with four goals on 10 shots. Anderson added two goals and four shots on goal. Farr and Jones also scored two points on a goal and an assist.
Addy Ours took the loss in net making 10 saves.
The Scots wrap up their regular season on Saturday when they host IUP at noon inside Sox Harrison Stadium.
